The EasyMerge is a pcb-board, which features two optically isolated DMX512 inputs. The inputs are buffered, then merged together with HTP (Highest Takes Precedence) and later outputed. The board is ready-to-use: simply connect it to 8-20V DC.

Both inputs are completely optically isolated against one another and the output. Each input features the ability to connect a switch for a termination resistor. The power consumption is only 1/4 unit-load, which allows one to connect 128 instead of 32 inputs like this to one single driver. Each input is protected against electrostatic discharge.

The electronic is DMX512-2000 ready, that means it will receive any start-code. If the received start-codes are equal, the output will be a frame, which is as long as the longer one of the input frames. The data will be combined by HTP. Data which is only available from one input frame is outputed directly. If the received start-codes are not equal, the output interlaces both inputs: one frame with the exact data of input one, followed by one frame with the exact data of input two.

The output driver is protected against permanent short-circuits and electrostatic discharge and is slew-rate-limited to minimize problems related to wrong or missing termination.
